EVERY hero of the Bible

EVERY hero of the Bible, old and new testament, went through tremendous struggle. Their stories always identify with us. It is through those struggles their faith truly came alive. Just because we live over 2000 years from their lifetime, in a modern age does not mean the principle has changed. If we want God to use us in full capacity, we must go through brokenness in order to produce the faith to move mountains and restore His people. So be glad during the struggle that God cares enough for you to give you your heart’s desire to serve Him and His people.

You are blessed and it is in His blessing that you struggle. It’s a Biblical principal which we are unworthy of, but He calls us anyway.

The struggle always needs to lead us to Jesus in order for the principle to serve it’s purpose.

Obsession

You overtake me without my permission.
You violate me and I take offense to you.
You have hijacked my mind one too many times.
I hate you! I hate you! I hate you!

You have raped my soul and spirit
You leave me on the floor in my pool of tears
Pants down for the whole world to see
Leaving me as you lie in wait to take me again

We are now at war.
I will outsmart you
I will not let you steal from me
Any longer!

New Year 2017 (Repost)

Good morning friends and family. This is the start of a new year. Many of us seem to have had a dark and disconnected 2016. Good things are in store for 2017, but we have to do our part. Today resolve to put your faith, hope & love in the right things – the eternal. We must have an eternal perspective or we will wash away in sin and despair. Let the world do it’s thing and we choose to live with God in our hearts, following Him, laying down our life for Him and our brothers and sisters. Choosing what is right, noble and honorable. Turning away from our destructive, unhealthy self-focus. All we need to do is make the decision to do this today. Then tomorrow, make the decision again. Just one day at a time. You deserve a good life, but you have to choose it and move forward in it. Be excellent to one another and yourself!

NOTE: Obviously this was written at the beginning of the year, but the principle works all year round.  Keep it real!
