Thoughts swirl around in my head
In a circular motion,
Synchronized like that of a dust devil or whirlwind,
In my mind, my thoughts and my emotions,
They flip like clockwork these bits of information.
Some dreams, some schemes, some bits of the past,
Rush by me like a movie or a quick drive in the car.

But unlike the whirlwind,
the debris never seems to escape into a far off place.
It just goes round and round and round and round in my head.
I am held captive by it’s lure,
to continue to explore,
the turmoil in my head.
